OUR ACTIVITIES
THE SPOT
Our center is set right at Estoril Beach, only a 5-minute walk from town - what we proudly call the prime spot of Sal Rei bay.
This bay is nothing less than a watersport playground. From November to May, the powerful and reliable trade winds from the east/northeast transform it into a dream arena for windsurfers, kitesurfers, wingfoilers, and surfers. With clean offshore and side-offshore winds, you’ll find a variety of wave spots inside the bay — from mellow rollers for first rides to solid breaks for advanced riders chasing adrenaline. And when it’s time to cruise, the flat, crystal-clear water delivers the perfect stage for freeride sessions and fast progression.
Here, every session feels like an adventure.
ABOUT BOAVISTA
WIND & WEATHER FORECAST
The trade winds at Boavista are strong and reliable, blowing from early November until late May. During this season, the wind averages between 15 and 30 knots, coming predominantly from the east/northeast. Over the bay of Sal Rei, it generally blows offshore or side-offshore, with more offshore winds in the early months of the season and shifting to side/side-off from February through the end of May.
From December to mid-March, northwest swells frequently roll in, creating excellent waves across the bay — perfect for riders who love wave sessions and surf-style conditions.
During the summer months, the island takes on a calmer character. Winds and waves ease off, making it an ideal time to relax, paddle along the scenic coastline, go sailing, snorkeling, fishing, or enjoy the south side of the island for surfing. It’s also the perfect season to simply slow down and discover the many wonderful experiences Boavista has to offer.
Boavista is the third largest island in the Cape Verde archipelago, covering about 620 km². Surrounded by crystal-clear waters and blessed with endless stretches of untouched white sand, it’s a true paradise where nature’s colors shine brightly. The island’s welcoming people and their happy, relaxed spirit create an atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.
With its favorable climate and laid-back vibe, Boavista is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy life. The island is also known for its delicious food, friendly locals, and vibrant music - all part of the authentic Cape Verdean experience.

OURÂ HISTORY
The Windclub was founded in 1994 by the windsurf Legend François Guy, Windsurf Champion and watersport Pioner in Cape verde. François found in this little paradise the perfect setup to build the Nautic center of his dreams.
In 2020 we, Sean Guy & family decided to continue the Legacy, showing the true spirit of the place, and sharing our passion for the ocean and this paradise called Boavista.
So to share our honor and gratitude we change the name of the center for Windclub François Guy.
